چکیده

In this letter, performance of a multiantenna multiuser unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-assisted terrestrial-satellite communication system over mixed free space optics (FSO)/radiofrequency (RF) channels is analyzed. Downlink transmission from the satellite to UAV completed through FSO link which follows gamma–gamma distribution with pointing error impairments. Both heterodyne detection and intensity modulation direct techniques are considered at receiver. To avail antenna diversity, multiple transmit antennas UAV. Selective decode-and-forward scheme assumed opportunistic user scheduling performed while considering practical constraints outdated channel state information (CSI) during selection phase. The RF links follow Nakagami-m due its versatile nature. context, for analysis, analytical expressions outage probability, asymptotic ergodic capacity, effective generalized average symbol-error-rate various quadrature amplitude (QAM) schemes such as hexagonal-QAM, cross-QAM, rectangular QAM derived. A comparison presented. Further, impact error, number antennas, delay constraint, fading severity, imperfect CSI highlighted on performance. Finally, all results verified Monte–Carlo simulations.

Performance Characterization of a Hybrid Satellite-Terrestrial System with Co-Channel Interference over Generalized Fading Channels

The transmission of signals in a hybrid satellite-terrestrial system (HSTS) in the presence of co-channel interference (CCI) is considered in this study. Specifically, we examine the problem of amplify-and-forward (AF)-based relaying in a hybrid satellite-terrestrial link, where the relay node is operating in the presence of a dominant co-channel interferer. It is assumed that direct connection...

Performance Evaluation of Adaptive Modulation System over Mobile Satellite Channels

The performance of an adaptive five-mode M-ary quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) system under constant power constraint over time-varying land mobile satellite channel is evaluated in this paper. The mathematically-tractable closed-form expressions of performance for outage probability, bit error rate (BER) and average spectral efficiency are deduced by a simple Rician channel model in whic...

Integrated Satellite-Terrestrial System Capacity Over Mix Shadowed Rician and Nakagami Channels

In this paper, we evaluate the ergodic capacity analysis of an integrated satellite-terrestrial cooperative communication system under independent and non-identical shadowed Rician and Nakagamifading channels. Multiple cooperative relay nodes are assumed between satellite and the destination node. Amplify-andforward (AF) cooperative protocol is used at each fixed relay node for signal amplifica...
